Worked as Research Officer (IT) in IDIS (Integrated Data Information
System) Database a joint venture of cooperation between International Water Management
Institute (IWMI) Srilanka, Pakistan and Friedrich-Schiler University (FSU) in Jena, Germany
The overall objective of IDIS is to input, store manage, display and retrieve Geo Spatial
Information (Maps, Time series, Metadata etc). The IDIS is a web based geo-relational
database initiated by Challenge Program (CP) on Water and food and the International water
management institute (IWMI. We have used ASP technology for front end and used
PostgresSQL Geo Relational database for back end. Worked in Colombo in order to
implement geo-relational distributed DBMS within the network of IWMI regional offices and
developed web based software procedures for data input, data access and data presentation.
